Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for her nutrition quiz. We went over concepts such as carbs, proteins, and fats. She differentiated between different type of carbs (sugars, starches, and fiber), proteins (complete and incomplete), and fats (saturated and unsaturated). We then reviewed the different vitamins and their functions. She had a good grasp of most of these concepts. We just needed to focus a little more on the function of proteins and fats in the body."
"We reviewed other Spanish songs and their meanings for the performance that the student will be making in front of the class. This is going to be a graded assignment. We then reviewed morning routine vocabulary, reflexive verbs, and their conjugations. We also practiced making complete sentences describing daily routines since he may be tested on this in an upcoming assessment."
"We worked mostly on translating sentences from English into Spanish. This entailed practicing the conjugation of verbs and the knowledge of vocabulary. The student was good at applying his vocabulary. We need to review the conjugation for SER and ESTAR, the masculine and feminine of nouns, and the plural of nouns and adjectives. He is enthusiastic about his learning and is quickly grasping the content."
"The student and I went over her homework assignment, and I had a chance to familiarize myself with the materials she is using in class. We also made a study plan for the next few sessions."
"We went over the student's new vocabulary for her test on Friday with a relay matching the words game. She was required to say the words out loud each time she matched them to help with pronunciation. She is doing very well with memorizing the new vocabulary. It is a delight to tutor her because she cheerfully tries everything I suggest and has fun with it. I requested that she study her words every night for 10 minutes until she is sick of her current word list, then she is to go back and review an older list."
"We focused on -at verb conjugation and sentence structure. We also worked on the verb "gustar." The student did a very good job. He understands basic Spanish sentence structures and knows the conjugation endings."
