Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over TCP model in OSI layer including the datalink layer. He was catching up with the different OSI layers and its core mechanism. We also went over with HTML, DHTML & XHTML with detailed example. We discussed Java programming and looked at a simple Java class. In every step on the way I used examples and analogy to breakdown the topic in details. He was very motivated. Overall, the session went well!"
"We covered the second assignment of removing items from the linked list. We also covered determining if the list is empty even though space may have been allocated in memory for items in the list, but not actually joined to the list. The instructor is very specific about certain things, so I asked the student to get some clarification about a few things before proceeding."
"We covered chapters 8 and 9 tonight. We focused on encrypting and decrypting the Transposition cipher. These chapters also introduced functions. So, we spent time learning about how functions transfer information in the program, and also between programs using the OS clipboard."
"The student and I handled Exceptions this week, and with much success. His progress in understanding Python as a computer programming language is immense, and he even came prepared with some great chunks of programs with subclassed Exceptions that were nearly flawless."
"We reviewed the student's homework involving basic matrix arithmetic. We discussed essay strategies and style a little bit, as well. We met for 50 minutes, and I have also agreed to look over his "Essay A," for which I will be sending him comprehensive edits and suggestions."
"The student and I discussed, compared, and contrasted the decimal, octal, and hexadecimal number systems; worked through Euler #30 together; and then went over some issues she was having with her Sudoku program."
