Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student and I covered his precalculus and biology homework during this session in preparation for his upcoming exams. He is improving in both subjects and is beginning to show more of his work for his math problems."
"We worked through a practice test for the standardized test that the student is taking soon. We worked on problems concerning probability, using geometry and algebra simultaneously (such as finding the side of a square having been given the area), some vocabulary questions, and others. For the most part she seemed to enjoy learning the material. My thought for next time is to organize the problems better so we tackle one concept at a time (i.e. do all problems concerning probability consecutively, then do all geometry problems, then do all algebra problems, etc.)."
"Conducted a review of practice questions of test concepts that focused on the areas of polynomials, trigonometric functions, factoring quadratic function, finding zeroes within an equations, and complex numbers."
"This session we worked on solving inequalities for math. We also reviewed the student's social studies homework on South America. Before our next session, I will create a schedule so that we can incorporate tutoring for the assessment test into our sessions."
"The student and I moved ahead of his class and reviewed Pascal's triangle, as he is doing factoring and had completed his homework for the week. He received an 89% on his most recent test, a high mark above his grade last semester. So now we will look to maintain that standard, and even improve upon it."
"We worked on polynomial factoring and division, and the student commented afterward that the problems were feeling much easier than they had been previously. I showed her the logic behind the process of polynomial division, and we worked on strategies for finding roots of polynomial functions."
