Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over problems in kinematics, specifically projectile trajectories and acceleration/velocity/displacement relationships. It was a good session."
"Today we met a day early in preparation for the student's unit quiz. So far she has had a great handle on the material. She's working on significant figures, scientific notation, and dimensional analysis. We went over her previous three homework sets, the concepts from the quiz concept review, and her class notes. We did problems I designed from the quiz material and then I selected a few for her to do from the book. So far she is doing really well."
"Today we studied for a chemistry test based on naming of various compounds and identifying significant early discoveries in chemistry that have lead to our understanding of the atom."
"I met with the student at her home, and we discussed solutions and heterogeneous mixtures. We covered the difference between colloidal suspensions and solutions and how to differentiate between the two using the Tyndall effect. Afterward, we went on to discuss naming of binary and oxyacids, the difference between strong and weak acids, examples of strong and weak acids, and examples of strong and weak bases. She followed the lesson closely and asked several questions, which demonstrated that she was actively engaged."
"This session was mostly a review from the last session. Molecular Geometry and Lattice Energy were primarily covered. Notecards and a review book were given for extra practice. I fully expect the student to improve their test scores."
"We covered introduction to equilibrium, equilibrium constant equation and introduction to LeChatelier's principal. Solving problems related to the topics helped him to understand the concept better. I will email more problems to solve so that he will be more ready for the upcoming test on Wednesday."
