Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered two exams: AAMC 4 and the Nursing School Entrance Exam 2. On AAMC 4 problems were missed for the most part evenly across the sections, with the composite score being a 38. One particularly difficult Verbal passage and some of the biological science questions stood out. With the Nursing School Entrance Exam 2, the most difficult part was the physical sciences, including some hard questions regarding atoms and electrochemistry. The student will work on AAMC 5 and we will cover that next time."
"[COVERED]: Various topics from a PS section test and the student's SAP problems in Physics and Biology. We covered circuits, hormonal feedback and feedforward control mechanisms, and a few others. [EXTRA PRACTICE]: The student will assemble a more organized list of questions for review. [CONCERNS]: None."
"Covered many topics today. Thermodynamics, phase diagrams, calorimetry, electrolytic/galvanic cells. Only issues are just understanding the concepts that are abstract. After she understood the principle behind the problems she had no problem answering questions. Great session."
"We finished going over molecular genetics (DNA/RNA synthesis, etc.) and evolution/comparative biology. She seems to have a fairly good understanding of the concepts, but working through more problems in those areas would definitely help solidify things."
"We focused on Chemistry this section and I have emailed him all the supporting materials to do on his free time. I will continue with Physics next session."
"We completed passages from the practice book concerning electromagnetism, reaction kinetics, and the cell cycle. Overall, she had trouble with the physical science topics (which is the weaker of her topics). She did relatively well in the cell cycle passage, despite it being an advanced passage and difficult. I instructed her to please complete the rest of the passages and to continue with the same pace of reading the content chapters going forward."
