"Today with the student we went through the mechanics of what will be tested on the writing portion of the test. We discussed the different types of questions (improving paragraphs, improving sentences, and identifying sentence error) and the grammar that will be covered in the different sections. We also did a complete practice section. He had written a practice essay, and we reviewed it and talked about what he did wrong and how to improve. We also brainstormed some more examples, and talked about what sort of things he should include in essays in the future."

Instructor and student prepared an outline for paper, and a tentative thesis statement. Then student and professor did some additional research on website supplied by teacher finding two articles pertaining to paper topic, including one which explicitly mentioned notices in student's above-mentioned collection. "This midweek session was strictly designed to facilitate with tomorrow's Literature Circle Assignments. Previously, I mentioned that for tomorrow the student had three assignments due in accordance with her assigned novel. Tonight, we completed the summarizer and the paragraph planner. Primarily, the student and I discussed themes, events and ideas. Her reading comprehension is very good. In terms of the rest of the week, she has a front/back prefix worksheet due Friday and when we see each other on Saturday, she will compose her American Revolution Paragraph that is due Monday."
"The student and I went over her 5th homework. She turned it in earlier to be graded and only missed three problems, so we went over those to ensure we got the correct answers. She also started homework 6, and made great progress! We will meet again on Friday."
"Since the student had just taken the ACT for the first time, we did some review of geometry concepts that she is struggling with. We went over concepts such as the parallel line theorem, right triangle identities and some trigonometry. We also worked on some science practice sections."
"The student and I discussed stereoisomers - molecules with the same atoms and connectivity but a differing 3-dimensional shape. We started as usual by going over the last week's topic. She still had a strong understanding of the naming we had covered and the concepts of cis and trans isomerism. Overall I was pleased with the amount of material we covered and the depth of understanding she was able to show at the end."
