Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the student's homework involving rational functions. At the very end we went over some ACT problems. He did well as usual."
"We reviewed for his test: trig identities, inverse and reciprocal functions, reference angles, in both radians and degrees."
"We covered solving equations using logs. I did not see any scores/grades. The student was mostly struggling with the ability to solve the algebra once he set up an equation."
"The student and I looked over a worksheet he had on verifying trig identities. We talked through most of the solutions together."
"For this session we covered a variety of topics including factoring, graphing, and complex numbers. For the most part, the student did not struggle with one specific concept. She seemed to have a good understanding and at times just had some issues within different problems. We worked through problems together throughout the entire chapter. I feel that she becomes more and more comfortable with the material after completing each problem. Today we focused on an entire chapter more like a review. In the future we would probably cover concepts more in depth separately as she is learning them in class."
"In today's session we worked on problems with Pythagorean trigonometric identities. We worked through several problems from the class materials. With this type of problem there isn't really a set strategy for how to solve it, so practice is key to getting the hang of it. The student seemed a little stuck on how to get each problem started, but seemed to get them as we worked through each problem one step at a time."
