Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued with reviewing French verbs today. I reviewed with the student what we talked about yesterday (regular -er and -ir verbs). Then, I reviewed how to conjugate regular -re verbs. She quickly remembered how to do this. Next, we conjugated the irregular verbs of etre, avoir, and faire. We did numerous practice conjugations together. I also helped her make flash cards so she can quickly review the conjugations for these verbs. She remembered how to conjugate aller, so we didn't spend much time on that. She should look to review other irregular verbs on her own also."
"We continued with the passe compose - which verbs take etre as a helping verb (provided a sheet with an acronym and a maison d'etre illustration) and practiced conjugations with a game. I introduced conjugation of the imparfait past tense. As always the student was attentive, engaged, and asked some excellent questions. No additional work was assigned for next time as we will continue with the passe compose and the imparfait, but she will continue to practice vocabulary."
"We continued our work on the imparfait and passe compose by practicing common situations in which both are used. (e.g. "Quand j'etais [imp] jeune, j'aimais [imp] manger des sucreries, mais une fois j'en ai trop mange [pc] et je suis tombee [pc] malade.""
