"The student and I covered trigonometric identities and areas of triangles. We had the opportunity to use trigonometric ratios to find the high when a right triangle is involved. She continues to be motivated through her attention to the learning and her bright ideas. She did well at her last test on trigonometric functions. The session went great and we planned to meet Wednesday."

"Today, the student and I worked on solving systems of equations with matrices, utilizing GaussJordan elimination, the inversematrix method, and Kramer's Rule. He had a good grasp of all three methods, but he needs to take a little more time with his work to avoid making arithmetic mistakes."
"The student had some homework problems that she couldn't figure out, so we worked on those. It seems like she actually has a good intuition for it, but gets stuck sometimes when having to combine methods of solving or having to solve a different way than she's used to. We talked about how to know which steps to take for each problem, which seemed to help her quite a bit."
"We covered how to graph inverse trig functions and how to solve algebraic problems using inverse trig functions. We also did a general review about graphing all trig functions and their respective bounds on an xy graph."

Today, I had him draw out a unit circle and label all of the parts, including the angle in both degrees and radians and had him label the cos and sin values as a coordinate pair. I also had him make a chart of the tangent values for all of the angles included in the unit circle. This was a good exercise to review trig identities as well as calculating sin, cos, and tangent values (which can also be used for csc, sec, and cot) with the 2 most common right triangles. We also did review of solving trig problems (e.g. cos x = 1/2). Student seems well prepared for his final tomorrow."
