Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the student's electrostatic test today, and she did additional electrostatic problems to help her grasp the material."
"We began with a review of motion in one dimension. We then briefly discussed the basic kinematics equations, and how they are derived. We then moved on to apply this knowledge to Newton's Laws. We discussed the direction of the normal Force and how it is generated. Using that, we discussed apparent weight and the generation of Friction, discussing the specifics of the static and kinetic kinds. We then discussed the geometric truths of inclined planes, and worked friction into them, discussing how to set up and solve the different types of questions that are asked combining inclined planes and friction. This was our first session, but he made good progress. He seems motivated to improve his grades. I gave him my framework for problem-solving, going from concept to logic check, for which he appeared grateful. I assigned him about 15 problems covering all the topics we had covered, provided that they all dealt with motion in one dimension, as his class has not yet covered 2-dimensional motion."
"We covered parallel circuits and basic principles of magnetism. In addition, I went over the basics of dimensional analysis and use of units for the purposes of solving problems."
