Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We studied for the student's test on geometry. We practiced identifying shapes, angles, and lines. We worked to correct her understanding of angles in relation to right angles. She needed help understanding how to use a piece of paper to measure an angle."
"Tonight I had the student put coins in order from least to greatest and greatest to least according to value. We also talked about how many pennies were equivalent to a nickel, dime, and quarter. We also read a page in our book and talked about the character's feelings about her dad having a special friend. The student did a super job on her math tonight and we will continue ordering coins tomorrow. Great job!"
"The student reviewed his 2's and 3's x math facts. We then moved on to learning our 4's x math facts. We worked on fractions using a number line, in a set, mixed fractions, and writing fractions using pictures. We also used a site to work on finding the supporting details in a text to support the author's opinion. We will continue to work on fractions this week."
"I helped the student review his homework packet today. It was a review of math concepts, including place value, standard form, fact families, and magic squares. He did a great job and was able to complete his assignment."
"Student 1 and I worked on math (creating word problems with fractions). Student 2 and I also worked on math (basic operations, word problems, ratios). Both boys had great attitudes and did well during the session."
"The student had homework tonight on finding the averages and range. We had to review what each is and why each central tendency would be used. He needs to take his time typing into the calculator so that he gets the right answers."
