"The student needed to study/practice. We worked on vocabulary, analogies, and advanced reading passages."
"Today we worked on Reading and math. In Reading, we've determined that the most efficient strategy for the student is to read the questions first and then read the passage. In math, we looked at a variety of concepts and continued to work on efficiently organizing information and solving problems. I also reiterated that it's okay to answer the questions out of order to get through all of the "easy," faster questions first."
"The student and I went over analogies and math concepts tonight. He learned the six common relationships with analogies. He said they confused him a little, but we practiced pointing them out on actual questions. The obstacle was knowing what the words meant, and there were several that he didn't know so he couldn't answer. However, once I told him what it meant, he was able to correctly answer the question. We covered percentages, probability, and exponents tonight. He still gets a little confused converting fractions to percentages and vice versa, but with practice he'll do fine, he just needs to remember the steps. I gave him worksheets on all three, and he did very well setting up the probability questions. He definitely understands the concept. I am going to give him more exponents practice. As usual, his attitude was wonderful, and I think he's a lot more confident in himself than when we first started."
