Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I completed a session from 5-7pm. We continued with our lesson on improving the student's essay writing skills. We completed a lesson on active vs. passive voice, so that the student could add stronger verbs to his essays. The student successfully identified passive vs. active voice after completing the lesson. I then gave the student another possible essay prompt, and he completed an outline to show how he would organize his thoughts if he was given the prompt on the test. After working on essay skills, I conducted a practice test for the student, so that he could experience what the timing would be like on the real test. The student completed the verbal reasoning section, as well as the quantitative reasoning section."
"The student and I reviewed the practice test she did over the weekend. For her essay, we discussed that she needs to remember to include more detail, be aware of her comma placement, and avoid referring to non-specific ideas such as "things"."
"I worked with the student for one last review session before her ISEE test this Saturday. We had time to cover most of a practice test from her prep book, including all of the quantitative, math, verbal, and reading sections (we did not have time to complete the essay). She scored very well across the board only missing 1-2 questions per section. She is going to complete one final test on Friday before taking the actual test. Good luck!"
