Dana ...I also enjoy creating engaging and effective lesson in order to target skills my students must master and feel it is important to keep my students accountable for their learning. I am eager to continue my love for teaching by working with your child to help him/her develop their own love of learning!... My teaching philosophy focuses heavily on differentiation. As an effective teacher, I am constantly differentiating to cater to my students' needs and strengths. I begin with understanding my students' learning style strengths. From this, I begin to incorporate visual, auditory, and kinesthetic tactual methods to allow my students to grasp the material to the best of their knowledge. I believe that differentiation happens from the beginning planning steps all the way to the actual lesson and carries into any supplemental work provided. • I monitor student growth and progress. • I find books and writing topics that my students have interests in and are on their reading level • I cater my teaching to ensuring that all of my students are learning regardless of their reading/writing level or math abilities. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to individualize lessons based on my students' strengths and needs. Students learn by doing and by developing lessons that students can see visually, hear through their teacher, peers, or technology, and physically manipulate or hold, most of the learning styles are met each time. For this reason, I try to incorporate various supplemental activities to my lessons so students can see for themselves, inquire from their own interests, and develop a desire to learn more.
