Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Pre-Calculus tutoring. Continued with polar/ complex forms. Reviewing early/ previous chapters for upcoming test and quarterly exam."
"Precalculus: rational functions (domain, range, x intercept, y intercept, transformations). Physics: transfer of energy (heat)."
"We primarily covered synthetic division. As we worked through problems a number of issues came up that we worked to fix: 1. He did not always place 0's for missing degrees of x i.e.. x^3+x-6 he did not remember to put a 0 for 0x^2 2. He often did not look to ensure he was finding the right r in (x-r)"
"Today, the student finished her work on data collection problems. This was the end of the second half of her pre-calculus curriculum, so we spent the remainder of the session going over practice final problems from trig proofs, angle measures, sequences, series, and summations."
"In today's session the student worked on homework for section 7.1 in her PreCalc class. The focus of the material was solving systems of equations, both graphically and non-graphically. She does well with the non-graphing questions, but will need to keep practicing the problems that require her to use a graphing calculator. She is going to finish up this homework then move into 7.2 in our session Thursday."
"The student and I covered the unit circle along with graphing trigonometric functions. In addition, we ended with inverse trig functions and their fundamental definitions. He was able to catch on very quickly and the more he reviews them the more successful he will be; he did very well during this session."
