"On Sunday with the student we worked on her Atmospheric Sciences class and English 102, as well as scheduling our time together for the upcoming weeks. She had two short papers to write, one for ATMO 170 about an extreme weather event, and one for English based on an advertisement and a short article. Her teacher for ATMO 170 I have had before, he is usually a generous teacher. We are going to meet during her time for Math 100, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then on Sundays to work on anything she has due for English on Mondays. Then after we finish Math on Tuesdays we can work on anything she has to do for class on Wednesday."
"Today, we studied for the student's English and economics finals. We drafted an outline for one of the possible final essays for his English exam, then went on to study content for both finals. I advised him to continue studying from where we left off."
"This was my first session with the student. Tonight, we mainly discussed the plot and themes of "Macbeth," specifically the interactions between Macbeth and the witches. Fate vs. free will were at the center of our analysis. As she is currently writing a paper on "Macbeth," we talked about the proper way to write a thesis statement and to have all of the quotations and explications of text relate back to the original thesis. She struggled most with the archaic language of Shakespeare, which I was able to clarify for her. She seemed to be very receptive to the content of our discussion and was enthusiastic. I am extremely confident and excited to work with her over the next few months."
