Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked on his ELA and French. He has a much more positive attitude towards doing work, which is great. He still needs to be keeping better track of the work he has been assigned by writing it down. He is working steadily towards being a more organized and detail-oriented student."
"The student has his midterm in math at the end of this month, so we started preparing for the exam by working on a review packet that he received. We also worked on FOIL, squaring binomials, and the difference of two squares. The student picked up some nice shortcuts on how to calculate squares of binomials without actually writing out the calculations!"
"We had a great session today! The first student completed a take-home quiz over commas and part of his math worksheet over least common multiples, and the second student was able to finish up her math worksheet and we completed 10 minutes of math facts."
"We went over a previous state exam for chemistry. The student was not struggling with the course material. He had a positive attitude toward the course material. We went over some test-taking strategies, and we will continue to work on this matter."
"Today we reviewed the same exam review sheet we worked on yesterday and this time she was super on top of it. The sheet involved switching from radians to degrees, evaluating trigonometric values, solving trig equations and arc length formula. All in all the student understood the material very well. She still struggles a bit with finding reference angles but she has progressed a lot."
"The student and I worked on his Chemical Reaction lab. I helped him analyze his data and observations to help formulate his hypothesis and conclusions. We then completed his post lab questions. He showed a lot of interest in this particular subject. He was asking a lot of questions and I did my best to discuss with him how this particular subject in chemistry relates to everyday situations. Hopefully, he has more interactive labs like this that will engage his enthusiasm."
