Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"It was our first session, so I evaluated the student's skills, as well as reviewed her report card. She understood the concepts of addition and subtraction and has an understanding of the vocabulary. We worked on addition problems to 20."
"The student has picked up on geometry very well. As I work through problems with him, he has a look of surprise and excitement. I am encouraged to continue challenging him, because I know that he enjoys it. I will push him to thoroughly absorb and retain everything that we are covering so that we can continue to advance."
"Word problems in integration like finding the velocity, acceleration, position functions, particular solution in integration. We tried a few problems representative of the homework problems in the textbook, 1-41, 57, 59 and 61 of Chapter 4."
"The student and I worked through her homework for the week, including types of triangles, parallel versus perpendicular lines and function tables using basic algebra. We discussed her last quarterly ecart assessment and what she believed her strengths and weaknesses to be. We concluded by working through a corrections sheet with simplifying fractions. When we meet next week, we will work through probability and graphing, which has not been taught yet, but is necessary for the assessment test."
"Continued math problems with the student on inequalities, equalities and word problems. He also spelled 20 words. He will be taking the exam soon (Math). I had him read a passage and answer questions about the main idea, and specific details and understanding (big picture)."
"Today we worked on subtracting two digit numbers with regrouping. We spent time with paper money manipulatives representing the regrouping step. We reviewed our previous work from our flash cards. We ended the session practicing time with a clock toy."
