Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student informed me that his current grade and he also feels more confident now in completing assignments and understanding the material. We reviewed the syllabus, his upcoming test and assignments. He has an exam on Monday and has 2 chapters to read prior to this exam. He has requested tutoring sessions for Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. We finished studying the notes energy metabolism, nutrients, and micro-nutrients, and also nutrients involved in blood health. We also discussed his assignment due next week, and his research paper topics."
"Today's lesson reviewed the urea cycle. Following, we covered fatty acid synthesis, digesting fat via formation and transport of chylomicrons, and the structure and purposes of glyco-, lipo-, and apo-proteins. Much of our time focused on developing the concept of beta oxidation of fatty acids in relation to energy production. We also discussed the cycles which regulate the storage and usage of ingested fatty acids, cholesterol, and triglycerides."
"Today we finished going over practice problems for his exam tomorrow. I think he is prepared for what ever might be on the exam, and I wished him good luck. For review, we went over indetermenent form, a thermal expansion, a stress/strain model and a statics problem with special considerations."
"We reviewed for the student's exam tomorrow. Major topics included the second law of thermodynamics, entropy, interpolation, heat engines, refrigeration/AC cycles, and heat pumps. The student should do fine on his exam tomorrow."
"We covered the building blocks of potential functions and stream functions. This included sources, sinks, doublets and vortices. I described how these concepts are used as building blocks for a flow around an oval, non-lifting cylinder, and lifting cylinder. The sorts of given and solvable information provided in a problem."
"Our class was based solely on the student's assessment. We did a generic review of issues she wanted to cover from her book. We designed a schedule which includes her school work and her prep, which should hopefully be the best way to study for the upcoming test."
