Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We did problems involving molality and calculating molar mass. We then solved some freezing depression and boiling point elevation problems. We finally attempted to do some review types of problems."
"We worked through his take-home science test; he understood the questions very well and could apply the formulas quickly and accurately. The conceptual struggles he mentioned before we started, he was able to self-correct. We finished the session going over slope mainly identifying undefined slopes and zero slopes and being able to write the equations for them."
"Today the student worked on her worksheet for her new unit on ecology. We went over various levels of organization in ecology (population, ecosystem, biome, etc.) and various methods of study (observation, experimental, modeling). Then we practiced those concepts in interactive computer games that directly relates to her book."
"We began studying for the student's world history final by outlining essay responses for the list of potential topics his teacher gave him. We finished about half of the list of 11 topics, and we will finish the rest on Sunday."
"Today we reviewed the student's last Spanish test, focusing on the areas she struggled with most - speaking and verb conjugation. We reviewed the simple past tense of irregular verbs (some reflexive). We practiced pronunciation by reading aloud, and I assessed her comprehension of new vocabulary by speaking to her in short phrases in Spanish and asking her to summarize what I said. At the end of the session, we reviewed the questions she'll be asked on her oral exam tomorrow, and she practiced providing different answers to each question."
