Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on the main points in Chapter 2, for which she has a exam on Thursday. Good initial setting, but next time will work more on her assignments."
"The student and I worked on Biology and Geometry. We basically set up all he would need to know for the next two weeks for his geometry and then worked over the concepts behind photosynthesis. After going through all the Krebs cycle and light reaction information, we did a basic overview of how ATP synthase works."
"First session went very well. Discussed homework covering quadrilaterals, use of SAS and ASA theorems. Reviewed Algebra principles as well."
"We reviewed 2 of the student's geometry assignments. I also quizzed him on his vocabulary for literary analysis. He initially struggled with the properties of special parallelograms, but the additional practice helped him to understand which properties to use to solve for variables. He was confident of his ability for these types of problems and the vocabulary by the end of the session."
"Student A: Today we covered similar triangles. We learned to take corresponding sides of the triangles in order to make a proportion. The rules we learned are SAS, AA, and SSS. We covered that even though the sides only have to be proportional, the angles must be congruent. Student B: We covered transformations including dilation, rotation, reflection, and translation. We used separate formulas for each, applying them to each point of a shape. We also learned to identify the type of transformation by observing shapes going from one part of the graph to another."
"We worked on a sheet on finding roots of polynomials and then a review sheet on Algebra. The student understands the concepts well and just needs to be careful with minor mistakes."
