"The student and I went over all of her exam 3 material: oxidations, reductions, alkynes and alkenes. We did several practice problems to get her ready for her exam."
"We covered molarity, molality, mole fractions, and chemical properties in preparation for his exam."
"Today we started working through her homework problems regarding stoichiometry, acids, and bases. Initially she seemed hesitant about the stoichiometry problems, but she did very well on them. She took her time working through it, and after I explained why we go from grams to moles initially then moles to moles, she did excellent and really seemed to understand the process. She did okay with the acids and bases. She clearly knows the definition of an acid versus a base, and she can identify conjugate acid/base pairs. She has trouble in a full equation identifying the acid versus the base. I think she was having confusion once the conjugate pair was identified and confusing herself as to whether it was an acid and a base because she was looking at the reaction in both directions. After explaining the process to her and explaining that we base our identification off of the reactants to products direction, she seemed to get better. We worked through several extra problems, and by the end she was doing better and seemed to be feeling more comfortable with the material."
