"Review of distance/time graphs, "box method" of multiplying polynomials, functions, and linear equations"
"We worked on operations with radical expressions, factoring polynomials, adding/ subtracting polynomials, and multiplying polynomials. He had a lot of trouble with factoring polynomials and simplifying radical expressions."
"Finished review of point slope and slope intercept forms, and began work on systems of equations. Will continue to work on system of equations next meeting."
"The student worked on variables divided by mixed fractions and rational numbers, multiplying a set of operations in parentheses by a negative number, finding the perimeter of a multi level shape, solving algebraic equations, understanding the definitions for coefficients, variables and constants as part of an algebraic equation, and the process of checking her answers. We also worked on Social Studies and the judicial system."
"We are continuing on with the linear equation. We have been correcting finding slopes especially with the ones involving negative signs and going over word problems requiring her to solve for the equation and graphing it."
"The student did well today! We first talked about what is going on in her class. We went over what she's learning now; she does well with the current material. However, she has trouble doing the multi-step problems sometimes, either forgetting a step or not thinking it through. The other issue I believe we need to work on is her test-taking skills. She says she understands the material all the way through the unit, but when it comes to the test, she freezes. We'll definitely work on that! I look forward to working with her and improving her grades and test-taking skills. I gave her some work and study tips for this week, so we'll see how it goes!!"
