Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"-We covered Ecology. -Left student with a flushed out (from last session) study guide and practice Qs."
"We covered cellular components and the differences between Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells. The student was struggling with some of the information, but we went over it a few times and he seems to have a better handle on it. I told him to go over his material right before his quiz tomorrow."
"It was good to hear that the student felt confident about her test from last week. During this session we reviewed translation. She wanted to focus on the roles of the A, P and E sites on the ribosome, and we used her notes and a video to help her better understand these concepts. We also reviewed concepts associated with translational initiation, wobble basepairing, tRNA loading, and translational termination."
"Today, the student and I worked through his notes about evolution. He seems to be understanding the material. I will continue to recommend repeat exposure in order for him to have maximal improvement. Nevertheless, he continues to have a good attitude towards learning the material. I left him with an assignment to complete some vocabulary terms that I think will help him."
"Today the student and I covered chapter 28 in biology. He also worked on homework referring to the chapter. He understood all of the homework and the lessons in the chapter and should be well prepared for the test."
"The student and I covered the material for her upcoming Biology test. Specifically, we started with content that she struggled with the most: codominance, incomplete dominance, and blood typing. I cleared up her confusion and gave her a little bit of confidence. She knows more than she gives herself credit for. We also worked through her old quiz to identify missteps and completed the review sheet. With about 5 minutes left in the session, I asked her a few questions from a college-level exam over the same material. She was able to work through the problems and correctly explain her logic. I encouraged her to practice a few more pedigrees and X-linked crosses. I hope she will do well tomorrow! It was a pleasure working with her tonight."
