Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had a quiz yesterday so didn't have any homework last night. I taught him the verb 'doler' and its use with indirect object pronouns. This led us to learn some vocab for parts of the body, too."
"In this session, the student and I continued reviewing and practicing for her test on the imperfect tense, reflexive verbs, and vocabulary related to the body, health, and doctor visits. We practiced to reinforce old and new concepts. The student did very well. She and I both feel confident that she knows the material. For our next session, we will be practicing the new material in the next chapter. This material revolves around the topic of technology."
"The student and I set out a plan to help him be successful on his Spanish Midterm exam. I looked through most of his class notes, as well as the midterm exam review packet given by the teacher. We reviewed the preterite and imperfect tenses of verbs, and some verb meanings. We will continue to study these verb forms, and will also address preterite versus imperfect tenses, tu and usted command forms, present progressive, and any remaining exam items. Together we mapped a plan for his 12/9 oral exam as well."
"I explained how to conjugate verbs in the past tense, and he practiced conjugating different verbs while answering questions on his homework. We also went over vocabulary and made new flash cards for words he didn't know. We reviewed some of the concepts that will be on his upcoming test, and practiced speaking to prepare for his oral language test next week."
"We did numbers, dates, years, telling time, asking the questions related to those topics. We will drill numbers more so they become second nature. We will also begin the practice exercises in her exam study guide, including the listening portion."
"For today's session, the student and I reviewed the new vocab and chapter material that he learned last week. He had a lot of homework activities, and I helped him to complete these before moving onto additional practice. I challenged him to talk in French about his preferences with the new vocabulary before reinforcing the material with a number of writing activities. I am confident that he is learning the material."
