Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered several physics concepts today in order to shore up areas that could be improved. First, we looked over electricity and magnetism. We touched heavily on magnetic force, the right hand rule, circular motion due to magnetism, and circuits. Next we covered lenses and mirrors in heavy detail. We started off with the general concepts behind the two, discussed real, virtual, upright, and inverted images, and used the lens and magnification equations to figure out lens and mirror problems."
"We reviewed general preparation tips before Thursday, including getting lots of rest and doing things to allay stress during this final push. The student plans to take at least one more practice test before we meet again tomorrow. She feels like she has mastered most of the material, but we emphasized accuracy today."
"The student and I covered her recently completed practice exam that included the physical sciences section and the biology/ochemistry section. While working over questions that she had she missed or had questions about, we covered the relevant topics and test taking strategies. We scheduled next week's session to include covering an additional chapter of physics, the verbal section of her practice exam and more general review."
"The students and I reviewed their physical science self-assessment. We reviewed the questions that they answered incorrectly, and discussed test taking strategies as they take additional practice exams."
"This was our last session. We spent some time going over organic chemistry to begin looking at different cyclohexane configurations, types of isomers and ways of representing them. I think the student has gone over almost all of the material and I hope it served him well. We did accompanying problems during the second half of the session. We also went over thermodynamics and accompanying problems."
"We got through all of the practice logic games problems. The student does really well with speed and accuracy. The problems that gave him the most trouble were advanced, so I would recommend practicing advanced logic games in preparation for the LSAT. We also did a main point question set. Next session we will focus solely on LR."
