Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student started trigonometry this week. Although it seemed quite unfamiliar to him at the start of our session, by the end he was very comfortable with SOH CAH TOA and their uses and applications. We are planning to have another session next week."
"We reviewed for the student's quiz tomorrow. We completed a problem involving mean, median mode, range, interquartile range, standard deviation, and variance. We also practiced finding percentiles and learned what they are conceptually. After this, we went back to the concept of sequences and reviewed. We spent time practicing how to write the general form of a sequence."
"Today we went over addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and reduction of polynomial equations. We worked on one of her worksheets from class and were able to get through all her homework. The student continues to improve. She told me today that she spoke with her guidance counselor who commended her on turning her grades around."
"We covered more SAT sample questions. The student scored in the 700-760 range on the last practice test we took, which is a significant improvement from the last time. I left her with 2 practice tests to complete before I see her again Saturday."
"Tonight, we reviewed problems that the student had involving binomial probability. We discussed determining shape, mean, and standard deviation. He seems to have a good understanding overall."
"The student seemed to be doing well with the material we were covering, and we were able to clear up a couple of concepts that he found tricky. He seems more concerned about science right now because he's not sure how to study for it. We went over some of the formulas. I pointed out that for formulas with three variables, if you know two of them, you can always solve for the third. I hope he did well on his test!"
