Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went though some problems the student sent me. We covered thermodynamics, Doppler effect, and fluid dynamics."
"We talked about oscillations and basic fluid dynamics. The student has a final exam today; he seems ready for it. His problem-solving skills have improved dramatically."
"The student and I studied problems from Chapters 5 and 6, and discussed calculator usage in preparation for his second exam next Monday. We plan to meet next late next week."
"In this session, we started going over transverse and longitudinal waves. We used a sheet that his teacher gave to the class. We read through all the examples, and redid them together. I told him to take notes from the textbook."
"We went through the session as we did our previous sessions. Since we have covered all the material, we went over a few past problem sets in electricity, specifically dealing with electric potentials, Gauss' Law, and capacitance."
"We covered lens ray diagrams, the thin lens formula, and Snell's Law of refraction. We did some brushing up on the ray diagrams, but the bigger challenge was Snell's Law. We went through all the steps of defining the parameters in order to solve for the refraction of light. We went several times over making of diagrams for this. There were also some calculator skills involved, such as with taking sin(x) and particularly the inverse sin."
