Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over all the problems the student got wrong on her practice AP test. This took the entire 2 hours as we fixed and resolved each mistake. I think she got a lot out of this by knowing what more she needs to study for the AP Test"
"The student and I worked on the circulatory system and respiratory system today. She did well with the various concepts but needed help understanding how countercurrent exchange works in the fish gills. We used diagrams in two different textbooks to help her better understand how this works. We covered a whole chapter in her book and did several practice questions to test her knowledge."
"In our first session, the student and I continued to work on Acids and Bases, specifically looking at titrations. The second session, we began doing an A.P. review and covered a wide range of topics, specifically we looked at equilibrium, electronic structure and photon properties, and limiting reagent. The student seemed very receptive to the material and seemed to pick it up very well as we covered it. It seemed as if he knew the material and just needed a refresher to remember it. The student and I discussed some A.P. test taking strategies in the second session. While discussing typically questions, I would rephrase or slightly change questions to show the student alternative was questions can be asked."
"The student and I had a pretty good session. She has a test on Thursday, so we spent all of our time together working on studying for that. We talked about acids and bases, titrations, and neutralizations. We have a tentative appointment for tomorrow night in case she decides she wants to study one more time before the test."
"During the session we went over a review of the principle for reaction equilibria. We covered the calculation of reaction rates constant from partial initial, final reactant concentration data and reaction equations as well as reaction quotients."
"Today the student and I worked on electrophilic substitution on benzene, nucleophilic substitution, and went over specific questions and synthesis problems."
