Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over a pretest that the student had to complete which covered null hypothesis testing, determining confidence intervals, using t and z tables, and calculating expected values and variances. When appropriate (e.g. with null hypothesis testing). I wrote out steps that he can take or rules to use when presented with common types of questions. He gained a good grasp of what we covered by the end of our session. He needs to study more to gain a better understanding of some of the abstract statistical principles he is starting to deal with."
"The student needed to study for a final exam in the next day or so. We went over several complex problems from her study sheet. We covered hypothesis testing, percent variance accounted for, and types of errors in detail. By the time we finished, she seemed to have a better handle on the material we had covered."
"We converted the Stata script to R script. Everything went well. The student understands her experimental design very well."
"Concepts: sample mean and standard deviation, normal distribution, sampling distribution, z-scores, and probability with respect to inequalities. The student completed multiple practice problems involving sampling distribution."
"We reviewed her work on several problems; very complicated problems. The student's understanding has improved over the course of a few weeks but she needs to catch up with the work."
"We covered distributions during our session today. Specifically, we went over the binomial, Poisson, and geometric distributions. Using these distributions, we solved probability related problems. The student had a good grasp on when it was appropriate to use each distribution and how to appropriately solve these problems."
