Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student missed about a week of school so we are trying to play catch up a little. We went over the force due to gravity and mechanical efficiency of a lever. I am going to email his teacher so I can get an idea of what he is learning."
"Today, the student and I worked on nuclear force, nuclear energy, mass defect, binding energy, and nucleus stability. He had a bit of trouble remembering the previous terms and learning the new terms, but picked right up on them when we reviewed. For extra practice he will finish the assignment related to what we covered."
"We continued Static and Kinetic friction, and we solved problem # 40. Next we moved on to elastic forces and we solved problems 45, and 46. Next we moved on to Circular Motion and solved problem # 2 in Chapter 6."
"We covered simple harmonic motion. The student was diligent in learning as much as he could about the concepts and did well in spending time to gain better intuition of the problem. I included the strategy of finding maximum kinetic energy when potential energy is minimized and maximum potential energy when kinetic energy is minimized for simple harmonic motion."
"Angular velocity, angular acceleration and momentum of inertia. The student may need to understand or memorize the theory, definition and formulas. He has a very positive attitude in learning the materials. I left him with solutions to the problems, and highlighted the formula that are used."
"The student was being introduced to electric fields and their interaction with charges. We tried to schematize the pictures of electric fields so she could more readily match the concepts to the physical situations described in problems, and use that knowledge to see through to solutions."
