Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I worked on her assignment for stoichiometry and limiting reactants. She did very well on her own, and I just gave her pointers for ways to approach each problem differently and efficiently."
"We covered electric fields, electric potential energy, and potential differences. His teacher had only gone over basic electric field problems, so I increased the difficulty of questions and the student grasped the concepts quickly. As for electric potential energy and potential differences, we dove into those as new subjects. He has been introduced to these concepts, which will help him during class. He is progressing well. He understands the concepts well and is asking good questions."
"We worked on vectors. The student is starting the unit on electrostatics ,where charges are not all in a line and therefore the forces have to be divided into components. He is getting more confident with vectors and how to combine the components into the resultant. He is a pleasure to work with. He is hardworking and likes to understand the steps to apply."
"Today, we covered gravity. We went over practice problems in the AP booklet and a few from the textbook as well. The gravity section focused on spacecraft and orbits, so knowledge of the previous section re. circular motion was required."
"Today we worked on adding waves with constructive and destructive interference. The student struggled slightly with the material, but her understanding improved as the session continued. Her attitude was positive throughout the session. I included strategies to simplify the material. I look forward to our next session."
"The student and I went over the review of chapter 5 on thermodynamics. He finished all the practice problems, and he was able to complete all of them independently or almost independently. We then began on chapter 6. We finished five pages of 14 of that chapter."
