Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we discussed derivatives. We looked at the power rule and the limit definition to compute derivatives. We also looked at the graphs of derivatives compared to their parent function for such functions as: quadratic, polynomial, sine, cosine, logarithmic and exponential."
"Today's session with the student went well. We worked on an old exam on derivatives, completed it and then started working on chemistry with her. She has a short, crash-course in chemistry this year and I helped he go over a lot of conceptual problems and how it all works. No scores for this session. She isn't struggling with anything. No extra practice for this session. No concerns for this session."
"We covered 5 review problems that the student had trouble with on her final pass of her review sheet. We went over how to find the area underneath curves, consumer surplus and changing the limits of integration using u-substitution."
"The student needed tutoring in Calculus, not Pre-Calculus. Today, we went through the basics of Calculus 1. The specific topics that were covered includes the constant rule, sum rule, multiplication rule, and quotient rule. He has practiced many problems and shows that he is proficient in Pre-Calculus. He was able to do the Calculus practice problems very well. He learns very fast. I have provided the student with two Calculus PDF textbooks so that he is able to do some reading and homework at home. As long as he does practice problems, he will be able to retain that information. Overall, the tutoring session went really well. It was a pleasure working with the student. I am very impressed with how quick he learns!"
"We looked at a series of optimization problems for review. The student took a missed a few points when we started, but eventually picked up and did well on the majority of the problems. The student will benefit from some more practice before the final, but everything is looking good."
"We covered difficult questions in the topics of trig substitutions. With practice, the student improved rapidly!"
