Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This lesson I had the student look over some vocabulary to familiarize herself with it before our lesson, so we went over the pronunciation and usage of dates, time, introductions, asking and responding to "how are you?" (emotions including avoir expressions) and how to introduce other people including their relationship to you (family vocab and other common relationships), and parts of the body. She always comes ready to learn and has great questions."
"The student and I started by reviewing her semester 1 exam. We went over tricky questions and practiced with relative pronouns. Then we moved onto the next unit where we reviewed the student's grammar quiz and wrote a response on the discussion board. The student did a great job using process of elimination to determine the correct answer."
"We started the session by looking at the student's writing assignment. He chose to write a short poem. I suggested we look at some of the poems written in French by T. S. Eliot. I found one online, titled "Lune de Miel" and asked him to read it out loud. All the verbs are in present tense; I suggested that we should try to translate it into English and his homework is to get started. Then we began our work on the future tense. We are going to go through all ten of our target verbs. Today we started with parler, but before conjugating the future tense, we reviewed parler in all three of the tenses we have already worked on: present, imperfect, and passe compose."
