Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I spent the first part of our session today giving the student an overview of the ACT, as well as highlighting general tips and strategies for success. We used practice questions from the ACT website. We worked through two English passages, a reading passage, and three science passages so I have a general idea of what we need to focus on in the coming weeks."
"We worked on Math - various odd harder concepts (logs, logic, graphing inequalities). We reviewed English as well, which is going great. The student's homework in Science and Reading was also very promising."
"I told the student a bit about myself, and we got to know each other briefly. She told me her ACT scores from her last test, and we started working on the reading section. We talked about the importance of keeping your mind engaged and thinking about the main idea of the passage while reading it initially, and we read a passage together doing this. We did the questions after a careful, mindful reading of the passage, and she got 9 out of 10 right. Then we worked on math and reviewed things like averages, slope intercept form, and distance and rate problems."
