"I received my BA in linguistics from UMass Amherst and my MA in history from Louisiana Tech. I was previously a Latin teacher at the high school and college levels and now occasionally teach history at SLU. I can help with students who are having difficulty in any area of social studies. My focus is on pre-modern Europe (Greece, Rome, middle ages, Renaissance, Reformation,) but I am more than competent in modern European and US history. I also work with students in other social studies, particularly economics and sociology (my research focus is social and economic history.) "I have tutored in many areas, but I would say that my greatest strengths would be either in mathematics (particularly high school levels), language arts (essay editing, grammar, etc.), biology, and latin. I also have quite a firm grounding in chemistry as well (having worked for a few years in a research laboratory).
I've tutored students of all ages in many fields. Most recently, I've become fascinated with standardized tests (which I struggled with as a high schooler)."
