Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed specific curves and shapes and their formulae: circles, ellipses, parabolas, hyperbolas, in preparation for a test the next day. I gave her problems from the study guide, book, and my own design."
"Today the student and I worked through some problems on series and sequences. We especially focused on partial sums, infinite sums, arithmetic sums, and solving for n in a number of different ways and scenarios. Towards the end of the session, I also explained the algebra rules associated with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions that include complicated or multiple variables."
"We reviewed the following concepts: Linear equations, slope, y-intercept, collinear points. Then, we studied functions. I provided a definition and explained how to determine if an equation is a function. We practiced analysis of graphs, tables, and coordinate points. We studied the concept of "recursive rule" & "base case". The student's attitude was positive towards the entire material that we covered. I included strategies of how to solve linear equations, and how to learn the definition of recursive rule based on a given function. During the last 20 minutes of the session, the student practiced the concepts by solving various problems related to the topics that we covered."
"We reviewed the student's homework. She has a comprehension quiz in English. We worked more on Math and started reviewing for her retest."
"We went over Chapter 5.4 and 5.5 homework and the questions that the student had on the homework questions."
"The student and I covered infinite series, convergence and divergence, and graphing lemniscates and limacons in polar coordinates."
