Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student's test is tomorrow, so we had our final review of trig functions today. It went pretty well, and I think he will do fine on the test as long as he studied more after our session."
"We went over the student's homework involving arc length, angular velocity, and graphs of trig functions. We first reviewed radians and how to calculate arc length and angular velocity, then went over the sine function and how to graph a sine wave from transformations of a function. We also went over cosine, secant, cosecant, and tangent graphs, as well as their period and amplitude. Overall, we ended up ahead in the class, and the student seems to understand the material very well."
"We reviewed for the test on Wednesday using a packet that covered materials such as polynomial graphing, end-behavior of a function, domain, range, and continuity of a function."
"We've worked consistently to complete the student's coursework and to prepare him for his exams. We attacked complex numbers in four forms, learning to convert between the forms. We also covered DeMoivre's Theorem."
"The student has a test on Monday and was working on a review sheet covering polar coordinates, polar and rectangular equations, and graphs of conic sections and polar graphs. I checked her work on the problems she already finished. Then we finished the rest of the review over the remaining time. She understood most of it fairly well."
"Today we worked on the student's Algebra Review WS. He was able to do most of the factoring problems at the top of the assignment with ease - I showed him a trick for the harder ones which seemed to help a lot. We then got into synthetic division which he was great at. One problem involving complex roots tripped us up a bit, but once he figured it out it made sense to him. He still has a few review problems left to do on simplifying rational expressions, but he is doing very well with this. I told him that if he feels like he needs help with a homework assignment during the week to email me and we will schedule a session. Otherwise, our next meeting will be Saturday."
