Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on scientific notation and polynomials, including simplifying, adding/subtracting, evaluating and solving for a variable. She did a great job!"
"We reviewed the student's work for Chapters 1 and 2. She has greatly improved in her understanding of topics. She is much, much better with negative numbers, and better with frequency tables as well."
"We talked about graphing and functions. The student was able to understand the concept of plotting points. We will extend this to linear equations next time."
"We went over exponential rules, order of operations, and factoring. The student is preparing for her midterm on Wednesday, and I think she is ready. Tomorrow, we will review word applications. The session was great, and I can't wait to see her tomorrow."
"Today, I covered different types of slopes in our session. We went over positive, negative, zero, and undefined slopes, using them to create a series of linear equations juxtaposed on one graph. At the end of our session, we briefly covered pattern recognition with shapes in the student's packet."
"I continued to help Student A with preparing for her math test on Tuesday. The most important point is to remember to use the point slope intercept form to find solutions for the equations. We practiced working with replacement and elimination of a variable to solve a set of equations. We also reviewed working with inequalities. She worked hard this evening and is confident she will do well on her test tomorrow."
