Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the student's math homework, specifically the extensive Algebra section. I noted that the student at times didn't know where to use the P-E-M-D-A-S rule during order of operations and didn't know when factor/distribute though there were parentheses. In other words the student knows the "math behind" a concept, but not what to do and when to do it. I left him work accordingly-specifically his school problems."
"Today, we used the test prep website's subject tests as a resource. We mostly covered reading comprehension as well as verbal analogies practice. I also provided the student with an overview of the test in general."
"I reviewed the missed items from the diagnostic assessments the student took prior to the session. We covered dividing fractions, converting mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa, and adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing variables. The student was a pleasure to work with. She showed excitement the entire session and worked hard to master the concepts taught. I will email the parent worksheets for the student to practice the concepts covered until the next session."
