"The student and I worked on a project for his Latin class. The project entails teaching a lesson on chapter 11 from a textbook. We worked on creating a "cheat sheet" that held the first three noun declensions, and English to Latin sentences. We also made sure that the sheet focused on recognizing the genitive form, and being able to differentiate it from masculine plural nominatives."
"We covered the major parts of sentences in English grammar and then started looking at the conjugation of verbs and the declension/use of nouns in the nominative, accusative, and genitive cases. At the end of the lesson we ran through a very quick primer on relative pronouns. The student is very bright and attentive, and she's a very fast learner with an excellent tendency to self-correct. I'm confident she'll be acing her Latin class very soon. In the meantime she should just continue to practice aloud those noun and verb endings we looked at together today, and use the reference materials I'll pass along through email."
"We reviewed the vocab and phrases from the last session. Today's new phrase she learned how to write was: "It rained yesterday". We spent the last 10 mins playing the "five chess" I brought, which she enjoyed a lot. Today was a very good session, she was engaged and focused, because she needed variation. Different settings and different activities kept her on track."
