"I think I offer great tutoring support because I not only have a solid understanding of the academic subjects in which I tutor, but I will also be able to pass these study techniques and skills to my students. I believe that a tutor can only do so much to help a student, and that a student's ultimate academic success depends on their own effort and desire to succeed. "I tutored a variety of academic subjects, including English and History. I also developed extensive experience in test prep for the PSAT, SAT and the AP exams. For example, some students are interested in real-life applications of the subject; some like clever metaphors and mental pictures; some are very motivated by extrinsic rewards, like a good test score, while others do better when they can forget the test and focus only on the subject. In my free time, I like to jam with my roommates (I play the piano). I just got back from a year abroad in Germany ...

" I have found that I am quite passionate about teaching and helping others succeed. Much of my strength as a tutor comes from patience and allowing the student to find the answer on his own and not just handing it to him/her. I am able to relate well to students and am especially good at making the subject matter interesting and showing the student how it is in fact useful for real life. In my free time, I love playing sports and spending time with friends and family."

As a Spanish Graduate Assistant in charge of her own class, I have confirmed my calling to teach and mentor students. Contact with students has convinced me that research must be taught in order to culturally and socially inform people.
