"My name is Olivia and I'm a recent graduate from Northwestern University. I am from Manhattan but have been living in the Chicago area for almost 5 years. Ever since I was a little girl, I've had a passion for teaching and for school. I used to line my stuffed animals up and teach them lessons on various books or history on my white board. Fifteen years later, I get to do the real thing."

"I am a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. I have the skill set, enthusiasm and experience that allow me to be a highly effective French language tutor for students of all ages and all levels. At the University of Illinois, I took and easily aced all of the highest-level grammar and oral French courses that the French Department had to offer to undergrads. Additionally, I was selected to participate in a French studies program in French Canada in 2009. Just a few months ago, I returned to the US from a nearly year-long teaching position at a high school near Dijon, France." ...

"I'm an English & Journalism major at Loyola University Chicago with a passion for language. My clients have ranged from elementary school students to adults, and I can help with everything from phonics to college admissions essays. I'm also certified fluent in both French and Spanish and spent last semester in Paris, France. I'm a fun, engaging teacher with a dynamic personal energy, and one of my greatest strengths is generating enthusiasm in even the most reluctant students. I don't see why grammar lessons can't be games and punctuation worksheets can't make you laugh! I understand how discouraging it can be to struggle with reading ...

"I studied psychology and Spanish at Northwestern University and then got my Master's degree in elementary education from Vanderbilt University. Although I always thought teaching sounded exciting, it was not until I began volunteering in a third grade classroom that I was sure I wanted to pursue education as a career. Since making this decision I have had experience with students of all ages. I taught weekly lessons to 2nd and 4th graders during the first year of my program at Vanderbilt and then student taught in a fifth grade and a kindergarten." ...

"I'm a recent graduate of Northwestern University, and I have been tutoring both as a job and as a volunteer for many years. I especially enjoy high-schoolers of every level, but I have tutored students from age 6 to 35! To me, tutoring is about really getting to know each student, their strengths, and those areas of weakness that are coming between them and their highest potential. My specialties are math, essay writing and Spanish. I love algebra because it's so neat and there's always a right answer, and I enjoy helping students realize that it's more straightforward than it seems." ...

"I tutored students in French for three years at Carthage College. I realized that there is a deeper structure to the French language that isn't clearly taught in French classes. The basic structure of the French language is taught later than it needs to be. I also learned that many of the trickier concepts are not always explained as clearly as they need to be for students, who often have to work on all of these concepts themselves. Since then, I've tried to find an easy and concise way of explaining patterns and rules in French that make sense." ...
