Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to work through practice tests questions, free response and multiple choice. We tasked the student with sketching more of the problems out instead of trying to only visualize in his head. Putting pencil to paper to enhance his abilities to draw and be more concrete with his mathematical concepts. He is working very hard and doing a great job. He will continue to do practice tests and is on par for our goal."
"I continued to work on more operations on fractions with the student. We also worked a little bit on the concept of algebra operations and how to use picture symbols to represent numbers. We also worked on the practice as well."
"During this session, we started by working through the remainder of the student's homework packet for the week. This covered regular and inverse trigonometric functions. We focused on making sure that he remembered to round his answers appropriately, since he had slipped up on this on a recent quiz. Then, we went over the law of sines, using it to calculate the sides or angels of a non right triangle. He was able to do several problems that I created that should put him ahead of the curve going into this coming week of math class."
"We reviewed the student's Thursday homework set, and we completed about half his review problems for his next quiz this Friday. We will complete the remainder of the review problems tonight and go over any outstanding questions."
"The student completed her take home exam today. The last few problems she worked on were multiple part word problems consisting of a variety of topics including integration, graphing, and some derivation. She did a very good job understanding what each problem was asking. Overall she is doing very well with this material and should continue to do well, both in this class and on the AP exam."
"The student had homework involving rational numbers and estimating square roots/cubed roots. She was a bit confused with how to define rational and irrational numbers, but she understood them after the practice problems."
