Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we went over systems of equations, matrices, and partial fraction decomposition. Left the student to focus on the material we covered for today."
"We went through a practice test to prepare her for her exam tomorrow going over piece-wise functions. The test covered all of the aspects of piece-wise functions that we have covered in our previous sessions. Overall she did well. She had a little trouble with a question that covered rates of change. However, after reminding her how to do those types of problems, she was able to work her way through the exam problem. I did notice she hesitates a bit with figuring out whether a function is differentiable versus continuous. She gets continuity really well, but I think she's over thinking the differentiability. At the end of our session, I reiterated how to determine continuity and how to determine differentiability. She seemed to understand it. There were 2 questions left going over the same function to determine continuity, differentiability, and identify traits and sketch. Her homework was to work through those 2 problems. If she has any trouble, she is going to contact me before her exam."
"The student seems much more confident with mathematics than when we began. I told her to double the number of problems she does for homework and she will start to pick up on her simple mistakes and minimize her errors."
"The student and I began final exam review today. We began back towards the beginning of the book, reviewing sets, complex numbers, and general function behavior."
"Today was mostly focused on going over the first student's review with her - she did it mostly herself with a few questions for me. I also answered a few last minute questions for the second student."
"The student and I worked though the difference formula today, both the theory and practice of solving problems."
