Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We quickly reviewed some of the topics we discussed in previous sessions including noun gender and the use of articles. We then moved onto discussing estar and ser. We focused on the latter and also looked at the conjugation of '-ar' verbs. The student seemed to pick up on this quickly. He still struggles a bit with pronunciation though it is nothing to be concerned about - as always with language, more practice is needed. I asked him to complete several exercises and will send him a list of translations to complete for next week."
"We covered negative expressions, did exercises in the textbook and talked about vocabulary. The student got a 91% on her most recent quiz. Our goal is to keep her in the A range. She was previously getting B's consistently in Spanish. I left her with extra practice: a Spanish video and an online educational game for vocabulary."
"The student continues to do well on the assessments that he is preparing for with me and the ones that he is working on by himself. Today, we worked on his Spanish verbal exam, including pronunciation, fluency, accents, stressed vowels, and clarity of idea/sentence structure. We also began preparing for his science exam by working through his study guide and organizing his notes. Good session."
"This week, I am working with two students to help them prepare for their finals in Spanish 3, Geometry, and Algebra 2. On Saturday, student one and I reviewed key vocabulary for his unit on travel and vacation. Meanwhile, student two and I continued reviewing for her final exam by completing one of her review assignments on triangle congruence, properties of quadrilaterals, and properties of triangles."
"The student and I reviewed singular and plural possessive adjectives. I created practice problems that reviewed both ways of writing possessive adjectives, and he steadily improved. Next time we plan to go into the third way of writing possessives, and I think we will be able to cover this part very well."
"We worked on activities and actions, with specially attention to verbs VER and IR. We also worked on comparatives. The student struggles with vocabulary and building complete sentences. We will continue working on these things in future sessions."
