Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on proportionality in triangles and general rules of proportionality. We also briefly as a previewed next week about 45-45-90 triangles and how the proportionality is found for those ratios."
"The student had done all of the reviews I had asked him to complete and had even looked at the previous chapters. I was very proud of him! He seemed to have mastered all of the issues that he had previously found to be challenging. I advised he spend a little bit of time reviewing the equations for areas of quadrilaterals and sectors of circles. Besides that, just a brief look over of the other chapters and I believe he will do fine. I am very optimistic with this next test."
"We focused on calculating areas and perimeters of polygons. We also worked on his Physics homework. Concepts reviewed were on determining forces with various masses and acceleration on the moon/Earth. I also went over how to draw FBDs (Free Body Diagrams)."
"The student and I went over review problems for his test tomorrow. He is learning how to decide on an approach for the problems better, and would benefit in the class from learning more notations and how to write out his solutions more clearly."
"For this session, we reviewed and went over his last test, which included interior, exterior angles in addition to rule of polygons (such as rhombus, square, rectangle, triangle €¦etc.). We also went through his online homework and went through problems. For next week (his midterm), I gave him the task of making a study guide, compiling all his old tests and having specific questions/topics to review."
"Today we covered some geometry theorems and postulates relating to intersecting lines. The student did well with these concepts. She is getting better at basic proofs and is getting more familiar with the way many of these "rules" are worded. We talked about how to name pairs of angles formed when a transversal intersects two lines, and what is true when these two lines are parallel to each other."
