Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed chapter three and completed chapter four homework. The student did a great job setting up equations for word problems."
"Continued working through math final review packet, chapter 11 and had the student practice the graduation speech again."
"We went over the student's summer class curriculum and planned a schedule. I assessed her knowledge of algebra first. Then we reviewed simplifying polynomials and she did a quiz."
"We reviewed some of the problems from her previous review test on lessons 1-11, specifically she had questions on finding an equation of a line and perpendicular slope lines as well. She mentioned that she was just a little confused but after the review she felt comfortable with it. I asked her to do some practice problems to help the concept stick. Then we moved onto discussing consecutive integers and adding/multiplying/foiling polynomials. She did really well and caught on really fast. I asked her to definitely practice with these two concepts because they need practice to be perfected. I also asked her to do the review test for these next lessons that we've completed (up to lesson 20) over the weekend. I will be meeting her on Tuesday!"
"We went back and did a comprehensive review of topics the student missed while she was out of school. We went back to probability and functions. She seems to be extremely comfortable with the previous topics she learned without needing much of a reminder. I did notice that her instructor teaches the material in a way that seems difficult for her and I try to give her tips for methods she can use to better absorb the material. I am leaving her with questions for extra practice."
"The student and I covered her most recent homework. Equations with word problems was the general concept. She had no issue with this topic. We moved onto factoring quadratics and has been working on getting better at this topic. She is solving the simple questions but takes a longer time than desired to find those that are more complex, which is a area we will be focusing on during future sessions."
