Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent the entire time doing different versions of applying the Pythagorean theorem to find the distance between two points on a graph, as well as between two coordinates given. We also spent the session doing a chapter review assignment."
"During our session, the student and I covered concepts in geometry. We went over his worksheet on sin, cos, tan, and how to find triangle side measures given angle measurements. Student understood the concept very easily. He continues to be a very motivated student who genuinely wants to understand all concepts in chemistry and geometry."
"Today we started filling out a sheet of important formulas and identities the student needs to know for AP calculus. As we went through them, I had her explain to me why they were true, and how they could be applied to different problems."
"The student and I reviewed test 1. Concepts included u-sub integrals, Riemann sums, area between curves, and volume of rotation."
"We covered solving absolute value equations. The student struggles with slowing down his thought process and putting the thought process on paper. Right now, the problems are pretty straightforward and he has the ability to follow along with them in his head but as the problems get tougher, he will need to adapt to the idea of writing everything out."
"Tonight, I continued to work on converting fractions and decimals to percents with the student. I created some problems for her where she had to convert fractions and decimals to percents. I also gave her some word problems to work on, involving money and adding certain percentages for tips and taxes to the amount. We also worked on finding the least common denominator for fractions, as she is currently reviewing least common multiple in math class. I found out today that she got an 88 on her last test."
