Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over a few SAT math sections, focusing on how she would do each questions. Her accuracy has definitely been improving and she seems more confident as well."
"The student and I began the session by practicing a math portion of the exam. We reviewed word problems and algebraic expressions. We then moved on to a verbal section of the test. I had him take it just like as if it were a section of the SAT. He had a 25-minute time limit to finish the section. We then went over it, and he did better than last session. We reviewed reading comprehension and vocabulary. His grammar is quite good. If he improves his vocabulary by reading and practicing online vocabulary quizzes, he'll be much better off in this department. After going through those questions, we moved onto a writing practice section, on which he did quite well! There were a few missteps here and there, particularly with making sure all the tenses were correct, but I am not worried about him on the writing portion. At the very end of our session, we moved back into math--I had him do four problems, and he got three of them right. These questions were harder, and I was impressed with how well he did. Overall, it was a pretty good session."
"We reviewed the student's test results. We refocused on specific problem types, and we are addressing pacing and other techniques."
